Long term effects of migration

In the long term, it is very very clear that immigrants create jobs. People entering the labor force create jobs. There's no way that, as Ben Powell of Texas Tech has pointed out, that so many women could enter the labor force after WWII if the entry of people into the lab force did not cause massive unemployment if the entry of people into the labor force does not also cause employment. Entry into the labor force creates new consumers, it raises the return to investment in businesses through all sorts of channels that are not abstract, but are real. People entering the labor force in the long run, create employment 1 for 1.
