1. Enforcement of immigration laws on American business owners was actually rare all the way up until 2004, which makes sense given that it would be inconsistent with American capitalism to criminalize those responding to employment opportunities.

2. Think women can still have it all? It stings a little, but Anne-Marie Slaughter would beg to differ. The response to Slaughters realization has been substantial, since this debate is far from over. Here is a slightly more optimistic version from Dana Shell Smith.

3. On a related note, remember the so-called opt-out revolution article from 2003 (a supposed surge in highly educated women stepping out of the labor force to care for children)? Turns out its just an opt-out continuation.
