The Ebola crisis is a reflection of long-standing and growing inequalities of access to basic health care...
The idea that some lives matter less is the root of all that's wrong with the world.

-Dr Paul Farmer

The outbreak is terrible and far from over, especially in Liberia and Sierra Leone. Donate to Partners-in-Health, a reputable organization founded by Farmer and Dr Jim Yong Kim that prioritizes healthcare for poor people. They are leading a coalition and working alongside two grassroots healthcare organizations in each country.

Paul Farmer is so correct in his assessment about health care and yet it is very disturbing to see the ravages of the Ebola crisis in western Africa. Glad to see your coverage.

For every 1,088 deaths from HIV/AIDS, 1039 deaths from respiratory infections and 603 deaths from diarrhea...3 people will die of Ebola.

This is a news cycle disease that will have you believe it's a greater epidemiological threat than it actually is.
